Why Presentation Matters More in Spa Interviews
Spas sell relaxation, luxury and trust. From the moment you walk in for your interview, you are being assessed on whether you embody those qualities. Your appearance, grooming and demeanour ARE part of your assessment — not just how you answer questions.
What to Wear for a Spa Interview
Women
- Clean, well-fitted formal top in neutral colours (white, navy, grey, black)
- Formal trousers or a modest A-line skirt (below the knee)
- Closed-toe flat or low-heeled shoes — clean and polished
- Minimal jewellery — small stud earrings, simple necklace if any
- Natural, minimal makeup — you are interviewing for a wellness role, not a fashion show
Men
- Clean, ironed formal shirt in white or light blue
- Dark formal trousers
- Clean, polished closed-toe shoes
- No strong cologne — many spa guests are sensitive to scent
Grooming Non-Negotiables
- Nails: short, clean and unvarnished (nail art is not appropriate)
- Hair: neatly pulled back or styled
- No strong perfume or aftershave
- Hands must look soft and professional — these are your tools
What NOT to Wear
- Jeans, casual t-shirts, sports shoes
- Heavy makeup or bold nail art
- Visible tattoos or piercings (unless already confirmed acceptable)
