Why Your Morning Sets the Day
A spa manager's morning routine shapes the experience of every team member, every guest and every revenue outcome that follows. Reactive mornings — arriving at the last minute, checking messages in a panic — create reactive, stressed teams.
The 6 AM Block — Personal Preparation
- Wake up at least 60 minutes before your shift begins
- Brief meditation or mindfulness (10 minutes) — you are leading a wellness environment, practise what you advocate
- Physical movement — even 15 minutes of walking
- Review the day's appointment book and key metrics before you arrive
Arrival Ritual (30 Minutes Before Opening)
- Walk through every treatment room — check temperature, scent, linen, equipment
- Check product par levels and retail display
- Brief team stand-up (5–10 minutes max): today's appointments, any VIP guests, any challenges
- Review yesterday's retail and treatment revenue vs. target
- Read any guest feedback from the previous day
The First Hour of Operations
- Be visible — not in your office. Walk the floor, greet guests, support your team.
- Resolve any scheduling issues immediately before they cascade
- Check in with the first arriving guests personally
