Who Becomes a Spa Trainer?

Spa trainers are experienced therapists — typically with 5+ years of hands-on experience — who transition into teaching, standardising and improving the performance of therapy teams across one or multiple spa properties.

Types of Spa Training Roles

  • In-House Trainer — Works within a hotel chain or spa group to train new hires and maintain service standards
  • Brand Educator — Employed by product brands (Elemis, ESPA, Comfort Zone) to train therapist teams at client spas
  • Training Academy Instructor — Teaches at VLCC, Lakme, or private spa schools
  • Freelance Trainer — Consults independently with multiple spa businesses

Qualifications That Help

  • CIDESCO, ITEC or equivalent advanced certification
  • Train the Trainer (TTT) certificate from NSDC or equivalent
  • Portfolio of measurable outcomes from training delivered

Spa Trainer Salary in India

  • In-House Hotel Chain Trainer: ₹45,000–₹85,000
  • Brand Educator (Elemis, ESPA): ₹55,000–₹1,00,000
  • Freelance Trainer: ₹60,000–₹1,50,000 (variable)
